AVIATION MERIT BADGE
The Aviation merit badge was first introduced in 1911. In 1941, it was discontinued and split into fours separate merit badges; Aerodynamics, Aeronautics, Airplane Design, and Airplane Structure. The four merit badges were at the core of advancement for the Air Scouts program. In 1952, the four merit badges were discontinued and Aviation was reintroduced.
